At CLEAT, we know being a “cop” doesn’t end when you make that last call. We know being covered is something you shouldn’t have to worry about into retirement.
The CLEAT Retiree Association is available to all honorably retired Texas Peace Officers, jailers and honorably retired civilian law enforcement employees who held a TCOLE license while working.
What does a retiree membership include?
For just $14.50 a month, or a discounted rate of $150 for annual dues, retired members will be provided with the same protections active peace officers receive.
In addition, CLEAT Retiree Association spouses holding a license to carry permit (LTC) are now eligible for legal coverage.

All honorably retired Texas Peace Officers, regardless of prior CLEAT membership.
No. Our licenses and benefits are not available outside the State of Texas.
No. If you are employed at any capacity by a department that refers to your position as a peace officer, and requires that you hold TCOLE credentials, you will need full CLEAT membership.
The CLEAT Retiree Association was created to protect retired LE in a critical incident as a civilian. If your employer expects you to carry a weapon while on duty or at work for the benefit of the employer, or for use in unexpected circumstances while employed doing the work of the employer, then the benefits do not cover an incident under such circumstances.
In many cases, yes. Providing that those civilians retired from a law enforcement agency and were required to hold a TCOLE license, they are eligible for CRA. This would include, but not be limited to dispatchers and detention officers.
