Peace Officers’ Memorial Foundation Events
The Peace Officers’ Memorial Foundation, in association with CLEAT, the Texas Peace Officers Memorial Committee, C.O.P.S., and other Texas law enforcement groups, honors fallen officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty with a weekend of memorial events each Spring.
Beginning on a Saturday, the Peace Officers’ Memorial Foundation hosts the Ride for the Fallen (RFTF)—a motorcycle ride from Cowboy Harley-Davidson in South Austin to the Texas Peace Officers’ Memorial Monument at the Capitol. Each year, hundreds of riders come to honor the fallen during this event.
On Sunday, we continue honoring these brave men and women with a larger Memorial Ceremony and Candlelight Vigil, featuring guest speakers, honor guards from departments across the state, and other supporters.
Come be a part of the Memorial Weekend to join us in celebrating the lives and honoring the service of Texas’ fallen heroes.

Our annual events pay tribute to Texas’ fallen officers each year. Since COVID, the number of officers who have died in the line of duty has increased exponentially, and it is as imperative now as it ever has been to honor these individuals and their surviving families and friends. The officers newly added to the memorial wall are read aloud in a roll call for all to hear and remember their names.
“May we forever honor; may we never forget” is more than a poetic statement. It is critical to live by these words so the sacrifices of our fallen heroes will never be forgotten.
The Peace Officers' Memorial Foundation strives to perpetuate the memory of Texas law enforcement officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving their communities. Since its inception in 1987, the foundation’s uncompromising determination to preserve the rich history of Texas law enforcement and provide support for the families of peace officers has remained unparalleled.
