Voters pass collective bargaining
Measure passes by only 47 votes
Voters in support of Alice police officers and firefighters having collective bargaining won the battle Saturday night by 47 votes, according to unofficial election numbers.
The proposition on the ballot called for the establishment of collective bargaining "if a majority of the affected employees favor representation by an employees association, preserves the prohibition against strikes and lockouts, and provides penalties for strikes and lockouts."
